We received this letter from the daughter of Lois Ensey and want to let the world know her family is still searching for the truth of what happened to their beautiful young mother in 1979.
My mom Lois Patton Ensey was born on November 22nd, 1955 in Lawrence Kansas. She grew up and graduated high school in Bartlesville Oklahoma at the young age of 16. This intelligent young woman spoke English, German, and Spanish fluently. She married Ronnie Ensey on September 3rd, 1973 where they moved to Austin Texas where Ronnie was stationed in the Air Force. Their 1st daughter Jennifer was born and not long after Ronnie was sent the Bitburg Germany where Lois and Jennifer followed. It was in Germany where their 2nd daughter Nikki was born. After Ronnie’s tour was over they promptly moved back to Fort Smith, Arkansas to rejoin their families after many years apart. Unfortunately, their joy was cut short when she was murdered at the young age of 23 that same year.
My grandparents, my dad, and her brothers never got over the loss of our sweet OEY. We will never get to see what accomplishments she could have achieved in her life and how she would have influenced and shaped our lives in so many great ways. She will never get to meet her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, or nieces, or nephews. So many have missed out on having her around. There has always been a missing chapter in the book of our lives and she is that missing chapter. I take comfort in knowing that my dad and she are dancing in the sky and celebrating being together once again. What my family seeks now is only the truth. I hope and pray that a 42nd year does not go by without closure for my family.
Nikki Ensey
